DAY OF RACE / PACKET PICK-UP INFORMATION

Friday, July 17: All registered runners can pick up their race packets from 11am-6:15pm at South Sound Running in Olympia (3405 Capitol Blvd SE, Olympia, WA 98501)

People can also register for the 3k, 8k, and Half Marathon. This is a great way to skip the lines the morning of the race!

Saturday, July 18: Day-of-Race packet pickup and registration opens at 6:00 am at the Lakefair Stage in Heritage Park (near the Finish Line at 5th Ave SW and Sylvester St SW, Olympia), and closes when each race starts (Half Marathon at 7:00 am, 8K at 8:00 am, 3K at 8:05 am). Be sure to allow plenty of time to find parking.

Due to a PCB spill into the river at Tumwater Falls near the old brewery in February , the Department of Ecology has been managing a clean up project of Capitol Lake sediment and water for the past several months.  In order to complete the project, equipment has been staged on various parts of the Olympia Lakefair Races 3K and 8K courses.  Partly due to fortuitous timing, and mostly due to the Department of Ecology’s efforts to ensure we can hold our races on their certified courses, they will have all contractor equipment off the course routes by Saturday morning at 6 am.  As of this week, the Marathon Park parking lot which has been used to stage their trucks is clear for both races to pass through.  The gravel trail from the parking lot to the bridge across Capitol Lake has also been smoothed out.

 

The barricade currently across the interpretive trail path next to the restroom on Deschutes Parkway (just before 8K 2 mile mark) will be removed by Saturday at 6 am.  The race path will be clear in Tumwater Historical Park, although there will still be equipment staged on both side near the trail under the I-5 overpass.
